Where is Ningbo?

Ningbo, our beloved home city, is a bustling port on China's eastern coast. As a relatively prosperous urban center with a tranquil pace of life, Ningbo boasts both historical significance and modern vitality. Home to Tianyi Chamber, the oldest private library worldwide, it is also a global shipping hub as one of the busiest ports on earth. Our website originated from this rich cultural cradle, starting as a local community before expanding globally. With Ningbo as our home base, we set out to share the city's hidden gems, emerging trends and promising opportunities with the wider world. Our mission remains to convey Ningbo's dynamic character as we continue navigating new horizons.

Infrastructure

Ningbo Flyer is hosted on a cloud server in Sydney, Australia, powered by Alibaba Cloud. Previously hosted on AWS and Linode, we experienced technical limitations as our content and traffic expanded, including DDoS attacks that disrupted services. To ensure resilience against cyber threats and provide reliable access from China, we migrated to Alibaba Cloud for their robust security protections and local infrastructure. This switch has allowed us to scale smoothly while safeguarding our global community from disruptions.

To deliver content worldwide, Ningbo Flyer utilizes Cloudflare for optimized content distribution. For storing and transmitting images, we rely on Imgur. Videos embedded in our articles are hosted on our YouTube channel. These third-party services have their own privacy policies regarding data collection and sharing. We encourage you to review their policies to understand how your personal information may be handled by our partners. By using trusted platforms like Cloudflare, Imgur and YouTube, we aim to provide a smooth user experience while being transparent about how your data is managed across our services.

Our server infrastructure runs on Rocky Linux, an enterprise-grade operating system built by the open source community to be fully compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. With its focus on stability, security and reliability, Rocky Linux provides the robust foundation we need to deliver a smooth, dependable experience for our users. The high-performance capabilities of Rocky Linux empower our server to handle intensive workloads efficiently. By leveraging this hardened, enterprise-ready OS, we can scale our services with confidence while giving our global community the best possible uptime and responsiveness. The strategic choice of Rocky Linux reflects our commitment to delivering a premier platform that our users can trust.
